The Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme is an internationally recognised scheme involving students from the age of 14 onwards. Students complete self chosen activities in a number of areas. It is a scheme of personal goal setting, self discipline and achievement in the areas of:
- Physical Activity
- Service to the Community
- Expeditions/ Adventurous Journey (Hikes) and a
- Skill (either something the student already does or a new skill the student wishes to develop)
Expeditions/Hikes are organised by the school and operate during the school holidays. Students work through the three (3) Awards: Bronze Year 9, Silver Year 10 and Gold Years 11 and 12. This co-curricular runs all year and is open to students from Year 9 and above.
